From my experience the prices for travel around spring break are pretty much at their lowest in the latter half of January which is NOW! If you are still hesitant to commit to buying a ticket, you can register on http://www.farecompare.com to get email updates of any lower fares filed for your destination. Just because a lower fare is filed, however, doesn't mean that fare will be available for the dates you wish to travel.

Some airlines will, if the fare drops between the time you purchase your ticket and the time you travel, issue you a voucher for the difference. Typically the voucher can be used for a new ticket on that airline for one year after it is issued. Once purchased you can register your itinerary @ http://www.yapta.com to be notified of any price drop.
